2018 6 Nations Tickets – Closing date 30th September 2017

The dates and our allocation of home tickets for the 2018 6 Nations have been received.

Closing date 30th September

As there are only 2 home matches for England this year and those are against Ireland and Wales they are both premium matches which means there are no reduced-price seats available for children and as a club we are limited to 13 tickets to each match.

This means that we will be allocating tickets on a first come first served.

There will be 1 group of 3 seats and 5 groups of 2 seats that can be applied for per match.

Please note:

To allow as many members as possible only one application can be made across both games

Your application will only be accepted on receipt of the fund in the club account.

Applications are only available to members of 2017/2018 season so you will need ensure that you have applied via the website before requesting tickets.

Also, if at the time the tickets are released you have not made the full membership payment or are not up to date with standing order contributions you will forfeit your right to the tickets and they will be reissued to any member on the waiting list (a full refund of cost of tickets will be made to you)

Seating is currently available at the following levels,

Please make your application at the highest seat value you wish to be considered for and if we are unable to secure these we will apply for the next category and issue a refund for the difference.

Cat 1 – £105

Cat 2 – £96

Cat 5 – £65

Cat 6 – £41

2017 Old Mutual Internationals

The dates and our allocation of home tickets for the 2017 Autumn Internationals have been received. We had a fixed (and limited) number of tickets for the Australia fixture and these have now been sold.

All other tickets have open availability and child tickets are available but payment must be made alongside this application.

2017 6 Nations Tickets

The dates and our allocation of home tickets for the 2017 6 Nations have been received.

As a Club we have 13 tickets allocated for the following matches, at the prices shown.

  • England v France February 4th 16:50 –  £96@3, £88@5, £65@3, £41@2
  • England v Scotland March 11th 16:00 –  £96@3, £88@5, £65@3, £41@2

 These tickets can be applied for but you will not be guaranteed them until we have final numbers in on 6th Oct and if oversubscribed a review will be undertaken.

 For the away matches we do not yet know the price but estimate to be around £60, and we will not receive confirmation of our allocation till later in the year.

  • Wales v England February 11th 16:50 – £60
  • Ireland v England March 18th 17:00 – £60

 For the Italy game we can apply for as many as we want, so if you want to guarantee your request this will be the best one to go for, Under15s tickets are £20 across the board.

  • England v Italy Sunday February 26th 15:00 –  £70/20,  £63/20,  £55/20,  £48/20

The dates and our allocation of home tickets for the 2016 Autumn Internationals have been received. We have a fixed (and limited) number of tickets for the South Africa and Australia fixtures. All other tickets have open availability and child tickets are available. The England v Fiji tickets are particularly good value this year with Adult prices from £25 and child prices £15.

2016 Six Nations Tickets

The dates and our allocation of home tickets for the 2016 Six Nations have been received. We have a fixed number of tickets for the home Ireland and France fixtures. You may also apply for Scotland, Italy & France away at £70 – final pricing will be advised when we receive any allocation.

Away games are allocated at the gift of the hosting union. No promise can be made of the club being allocated any tickets for these games. Priority will be given to applications from the club’s Sponsors, Vice Presidents and Volunteers

West Sussex County Council Members’ Big Society Fund & Club Growth

Some more excellent news received today. We have been successful in our application for funding through West Sussex County Council Members’ Big Society Fund for support with our club house of £25,000.

Thankyou to all involved, especially Sophia Wilks and to Councillor Debbie Kennard for her support in the application.

With the many applications we have submitted for our club house campaign, one of the key things we have highlighted is the growth of the club over the past few years. What we hadn’t done is tracked the full growth as we knew we were adding at least one new squad every year.

Mark has provided the registration figures since he took on the role and it shows we have over a 79% growth in the youth section alone over 3 seasons. Adding the senior figures in, the club growth as a whole is at over 60%.

Shoreham Growth

Chatting with other clubs, the growth we are seeing is unprecedented but, we expect to continue growing year on year with the hope that in a few years our youth teams will naturally feed into the senior squad. It’s only 4 years until that could be a reality.

With our club now consisting of over 200 playing members, sharing the small facilities and 2 changing rooms we have access to this really does show the urgency for the club house.

Next season we will have at least 2 senior teams and 3 youth teams playing competitive rugby and hopefully not competing for changing rooms but using our new facilities.

Notification of Shoreham RFC LTD General Meeting

Dear Club Member,

I hereby give 21 days’ notice that a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of Shoreham RFC ltd will be held at The Crabtree Pub in Lancing on Friday 30th January 2015 at 19.30 to consider and, if thought fit, pass the following Special Resolutions:

 

  • Recognition that Shoreham RFC has become incorporated as Shoreham RFC Ltd on 17th October 2014 and that is now a company Limited by Guarantee.

 

And

 

  • That Shoreham RFC Ltd be allowed to apply for a Rugby Football Foundation interest free loan to enable the continuation of the clubhouse project within the current proposed timescales.

 

There is a minimum quorum of 15 club members present required to validate the meeting and there is no provision for proxy voting, therefore the above resolution will be voted on only by members in attendance at the meeting, so it is very important for you to attend if you wish your vote to count.

Club House Funding – Good News and Bad News

As you hopefully saw in the last club house update, things have picked up a lot of momentum as we approach year end and we have a couple of new developments to share with you.

Firstly, the bad news. We have talked a lot about the £50,000 RFU funding we had secured for the club house development. Unfortunately, we met with the RFU last week and were advised that that funding had been reallocated as they did not think we would be ready to spend in time. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case but we are discussing alternative options to ensure that it does not impact our overall position.

And now the good news:-

  • We have been successful with our National Lottery funding request and have secured £50,000.
  • We have been successful with our application to the council to help fund the club house, improving the facilities at Buckingham Park with a new Cafe, Public Toilets and obviously the Community Club House. This contribution is £150,000!

Currently the Club have raised approximately £30,000 and with these new awards our fund raising has reached a total of £230,000 and we expect the build to be in the region of £350,000 so we have a little way to go. We do have the option of an interest free loan from the RFU of up to £100,000 and we have started the process. Any loan needs to be agreed at an EGM so when we are in a position to proceed with this we will issue notice to convene one.

With the outstanding fund raising balance of only around £20,000 (obviously the more we raise, the less we borrow) we are in a very strong position to start building early in the new year. We will be starting many of the final fund raising initiatives shortly (buy a brick is a popular option), but if anyone has access to a company or organisation that would be willing to sponsor Shoreham RFC or if you can help Sophia with the fund raising then please let me, Mark or Katie know.

We will be forming a club house committee shortly to manage this project, so any member that has building experience or has some time to assist please let us know.
