Shoreham U10s fielded a strong squad at the Bognor Festival. They faced five matches against strong local and touring opposition. Beckenham Rhinos were first up and a good performance from the boys, slowing finding their feet, saw them triumph 2-0.
A big side from Reading Abbey were too much for our team n the next match and dispite best efforts they came off second best, losing 3-0.
Minichinhampton saw the boys level drop slightly and in a game they should have won they never really got into the game. They never gave up but just couldn’t get any attacking play going forward and lost 2-0.

Determined to bounce back Shoreham faced Beckenham Tigers. These were the best team on the day and the boys played a very strong match. Physically matching the touring side they gave no ground. Losing 3-0 didn’t really reflect the match which saw the boys play on a high level and test their opposition.
Last up were hosts Bognor and Shoreham bounced back with an excellent performance. Although tired after a day in the sun they ran strongly to win 4-0.
It was a good day for the team, again being challenged by strong and talented sides. On another day they could have claimed second with a little luck and a more consistent level of performance. They eventually finished fourth showing how small margins make a big difference.
Many congratulations to the Shoreham lads who helped out hosts Bognor and gained
valuable experiencce along the way. The performances improved across the day as they gelled as a team and many were the stand out players in matches.
