Shoreham 49 – Crawley 7
Shoreham played host to a Crawley side that was boosted by some Shoreham U12’s as they did not have a fixture this week.
The Shoreham U11’s side were playing their first game on a slightly reduced size senior Rugby pitch at Buckingham Park and clearly thrived on the opportunity.
Crawley kicked off and the ball was caught deep by Darren Locke of Shoreham who immediately powered his way through the Crawley defence to score the first try which Ben Gale converted over the posts.
From the kick off almost a repeat happened, this time George Clarke catching cleanly and driving down the touchline and with professional technique bounced off 3 tackles from Crawley to score try number 2 which was converted by Archie Davies.
Shoreham were dominant against a shell shocked Crawley side and went on to score 2 more excellent tries before half time from Sonny Pullen and Charlie Taylor with both converted.
The second half started with more resistance from Crawley and an element of complacency from the Shoreham boys and Crawley scored a try with a successful conversion.
Shoreham woke back up and scored three more tries George Thomas, Darren Locke and Archie Davies with all converted, the last by George Clarke.
A very satisfying mornings rugby for Shoreham on the new pitch.
